The Mayor along with the City Commission is responsible for communicating with the City Manager to oversee departments and execute policies, including:

  • Assuring that all City services are delivered to the citizens of Paris in an effective, efficient, and equitable manner and in compliance with City policy.
  • Overseeing long-range planning and improvement of departmental management and service delivery through the City Manager.
  • The Mayor and Commissioners serve as a catalyst for developing community-wide goals and mobilizing the resources to attain them.
  • The Mayor serves as the primary outreach arm of the City government to other cities and other government entities.
